2009 marks the launch of the Search Engine Academy of Western Canada. SEA-West will be offering beginner and advanced training and certification in search engine optimization, positioning and marketing through hands-on workshops taught in Vancouver, Kelowna and Calgary.
Receive personalized instruction in a small class setting. This is a widely recognized curriculum developed by industry pioneers Robin Nobles and John Alexander, now taught under license by Canadian instructors Muriel Archibald and Shelly Coe. Muriel and Shelly have been personally mentored and trained by John and Robin and are certified in advanced search engine strategies.

It’s the first I’ve heard of this. Not sure what the cost is however. I can see some real value in networking. One problem I see though, is that what you learn today will likely be out of date within a short time. I just think the SEO world and Google changes things up all the time. Still, I think this is a good project. People build site, but without a thought about actually getting people to visit. More time on SEO people!

Thanks for your comment. You are absolutely right, what we learn about SEO today will change. The training is designed not only to bring students up to speed on the very latest SEO techniques, but to teach them how to keep up with the changes.
